Anthill Advisory exists because there is a gap between what business owners think their business looks like and what buyers actually see when they look at it.
I started Anthill Advisory because I have been on the inside of a sale. Over 13 years leading operations across landscaping, interiors, and roofing, I have built the systems, documented the processes, managed the people, and watched what happens when a business goes to market prepared versus unprepared.
The difference is significant. Usually measured in six figures.
Most small business owners in the trades are good at the work. They are not always set up to sell it at the number they deserve. Not because the business is not valuable. Because it was never prepared.
I built Anthill Advisory to close that gap. To give trades owners the same preparation that larger businesses take for granted, delivered by someone who has done it from the inside.
From tools to leadership across three industries. Each step built a deeper understanding of how trade businesses actually run.
Started on the tools and grew into operational leadership. Built out systems and processes from the ground up. Navigated the business through an acquisition from the inside.
Moved from project manager to operations manager. Responsible for day-to-day delivery, team structure, and operational consistency across projects.
Director of Operations and Integrator. Full operational ownership across people, systems, and performance.
Founder and Principal Advisor. Exit preparation for trades and construction owner-operators across Alberta who plan to sell in one to three years.
Anthill Advisory is named for the anthills of Zambia, where Erica's father built a life and taught her what it means to build something properly.
He was a man who did things right. No shortcuts. No half measures. Whatever he put his hands on was built to last. He is the standard this business is held to.
The anthill is the metaphor. Built from nothing, layer by layer, with precision and purpose. No blueprint. No waste. Outlasts everything around it.
That is what we build for your business before you sell it.
The name honours where Erica came from and the values she was raised with. Do the work properly. Build things that last. No shortcuts.
An anthill is one of nature's most precise feats of construction. Built deliberately over time, with no wasted effort. Structurally complex and resilient.
We build the internal structure buyers need to see. Layer by layer, area by area, until the business stands on its own and can be sold at the number it deserves.
When clients ask about the name, the answer is simple. An anthill is one of Africa's great feats of structural engineering. Built deliberately, over time, by something that knows exactly what it is doing. That is the standard we hold ourselves to. And it is the standard we help you reach before you sell.
You will always know where you stand. We tell you what buyers will find, what it will cost you if you do not fix it, and exactly what to do about it. No softening, no hedging.
Everything we build has a purpose. SOPs that actually get used. Financial recasts that tell the right story. Documentation that transfers with the business. No filler.
This advice comes from 13 years building operations inside the trades, not from a textbook or a course. We have been in the room when deals happen and when they do not.
